Zerrouki completes permanent move from Feyenoord to FC Twente

'There are many moments I look back on with pride and joy, such as the Champions League nights at De Kuip and winning the KNVB Beker. But not everything turned out the way we had all hoped. Zerrouki joined Feyenoord from FC Twente in the summer of 2023 as one of the standout players in the Enschede side's squad. In his first season, he impressed in the UEFA Champions League away match against Atlético Madrid and scored against S.S. Lazio at De Kuip in the same European campaign. As a regular starter, he also lifted the KNVB Beker at the end of his debut season, the first major trophy of his career.

Zerrouki added another trophy to his honours in his second season in Rotterdam, again as a regular starter. Feyenoord defeated league champions PSV on penalties in Eindhoven to win the Johan Cruijff Schaal. Despite that strong start to the season, Zerrouki was unable to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI under then head coach Brian Priske. His opportunities became increasingly limited, leading to a loan move to FC Twente last season. Following the World Cup with Algeria, he now returns to the club on a permanent basis.

Zerrouki made 65 official appearances for Feyenoord. During his time at the club, he won two trophies, the KNVB Beker and the Johan Cruijff Schaal.
