Feyenoord take Rasmussen on loan from Fiorentina
Feyenoord continue their summer strengthening with the arrival of central defender Jacob Rasmussen. The 25-year-old Dane joins the club on a one-year loan deal from Serie A outfit Fiorentina. As part of the deal Feyenoord also have first refusal on a permanent switch at the end of the loan as part of the deal.
‘I know the Dutch league now and I’ve always watched Feyenoord with a lot of interest,’ says Rasmussen. ‘The offensive way of playing really appeals to me and it also suits me well. I can’t wait to play in front of these fans.’
Rasmussen spent his youth at Næsby BK, Odense BK and FC Schalke 04. Via Norwegian side Rosenborg he ended up in Italy at Empoli F.C., before joining Fiorentina at the beginning of 2019.
For the past two seasons the Danish youth international has been playing in the Eredivisie at Vitesse, where he started virtually every match.
Rasmussen has been handed the number 6 shirt, while Jorrit Hendrix will wear number 16.
