Norwegian Football Federation sends coaches to Feyenoord for learning experience

The Norwegian Football Federation sent its UEFA-A Youth Elite licence students to the Feyenoord Academy as part of their curriculum this November. The multifaceted group consisted of former top players as well as aspiring youth coaches but all came with the same goal: to learn and improve their skills as coaches. Hallvar Thoresen, former topscorer of the Eredivisie and currently coach educator with the NFF, led the delegation. 'The Feyenoord Academy prepared a very good course for us', said Thoresen. 'The organization was perfect and the technical content very interesting.'

During five intensive days the Norwegian delegations observed practice sessions and interacted with Feyenoord Academy coaching staff. The visit included interactive workshops on different aspects of coaching, scouting and age specific characteristics, amongst other things. As part of the visit the group enjoyed the spectacular atmosphere during the match between Feyenoord and Ajax.

Jan Erik Stinessen, one of the participants and head of goalkeeping education at NFF, was happy with the opportunity to interact with Feyenoord staff. 'The academy visit met my expectations and I am very satisfied. We got to see a lot of different activities and spoke with several important persons at the Academy. All presentations were good and the coaches and staff were well prepared. A lot of interesting topics was presented, and we had time to ask questions.'
