Paixão commits to Feyenoord for five years
Feyenoord has added winger Igor Paixão to the squad. The 22-year-old arrives at De Kuip from Brazilian club Coritiba on a five-year contract, running until mid-2027.
‘Playing for a big European club like Feyenoord is a big dream that’s now come true for me,’ says Paixão. ‘I’ve worked hard to get to where I am and I’m ready to help the team, both on and off the pitch. I hope I can contribute to the group with my way of playing.’
Born in Macapa, northern Brazil, Paixão was scouted by Coritiba’s youth academy as a 14-year-old. He made his first-team debut at the start of 2019 and has racked up 86 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and claiming 13 assists.
His arrival at Feyenoord gives Arne Slot additional options on the flanks. Paixão is fast on his feet and deft on the ball, which means he is able to beat his man and make something happen even when the space is restricted.
Paixão, who joins his fellow countryman Danilo at Feyenoord, will wear the number 14 shirt.
